Rob McMenomy started It’s Done Rubbish Removal from his home base in Prahran in 2008. Before that, he’d spent years working in property maintenance across Melbourne’s inner east and noticed how hard it was to find a reliable, fairly priced rubbish removal service that actually showed up when it said it would. So he started his own. The name says everything about the approach: It’s Done. You call, we come, the rubbish goes. No fuss. What started as a one-ute operation has grown into a small crew of full-time team members, all based in or around the inner east, all trained by Rob, and all held to the same standard: the job’s not done until the area is clean. We separate metals, timber and e-waste at our facility and send each stream to the appropriate recycling partner. Reusable items in good condition go to charity partners before anything reaches the tip. We track our diversion rate and report it in our annual sustainability count. This isn’t greenwashing. It’s the way Rob built the business from the start, because doing the right thing by the environment is good business sense in Melbourne’s inner east.
