Rubbish Removal Fitzroy: Reliable & Local
Reliable, local rubbish removal in Fitzroy from your local Prahran-based team. Call Rob for a free quote.
Rubbish Removal in Fitzroy
Fitzroy keeps Rob and the crew busy year round. The Victorian terraces on George, Gold and Gore streets have small footprints and not much internal storage, so renovation clear-outs and deceased estate jobs can involve a surprising amount of accumulated stuff in tight spaces. The back lanes behind the terrace rows are something we navigate on most Fitzroy jobs: we carry smaller vehicles for the ones that won’t fit a full truck, and hand-carry when the lane is too narrow for even that. The converted factories and studios on Fitzroy‘s Brunswick Street end generate steady commercial strip-out work, usually timed around the business being open or closed. We’re based in Prahran, about 12 minutes away, and you always deal with a reliable local team that turns up when it says it will.
Parking takes some planning here. There’s no train station, so it’s all road for us. Brunswick Street, Gertrude Street and Smith Street are tram routes with retail clearways and parking that’s fought over, so we sort the truck spot before we turn up. The heritage grid is narrow with laneways and permit parking, and the strips get heavy foot and bike traffic. So we’ll carry your stuff out by hand and keep clear of the cyclists. We run these jobs every week, so it doesn’t hold us up.
We cover the full range of household, office and commercial rubbish in Fitzroy: furniture, whitegoods, mattresses, e-waste, renovation rubble, garage and storage clear-outs, and deceased estate cleanups. We do all the lifting and loading, tidy up afterwards, and sort for recycling wherever we can. No skips needed, no trip to the tip for you.
Fitzroy has always punched above its weight on sustainability and we take that seriously on every job. Since 2008 we have kept over 320,000 kg out of landfill through our Prahran-based recycling partnerships, sorting e-waste, metals, timber and reusable items off to the right facilities.

Robert and his team completed some rubbish removal at a rental property I manage. He arrived on time (the next day!), completed all rubbish removal and charged a reasonable amount. He was very professional and offered a great service 🙂

Robert and his team did a magnificent job clearing a crowded house and five crowded sheds. Not an inch spared in any of the truck loads! Robert is a total professional and a pleasure to deal with. Note – just had Robert and the team complete another rubbish removal. This time all the waste from bathroom renovations. Same excellent service from start to finish. Very pleased.

I contacted Rob first thing this morning about removing a bed and base. He was so helpful and booked in to collect the bed and some other rubbish. No fuss and extremely helpful.

Hard Rubbish Collection in Fitzroy
City of Yarra
Fitzroy is part of the City of Yarra, which gives residents two free hard rubbish collections per household each calendar year. You book online through the Yarra City Council website, pick a collection date and list the items you are putting out. Bookings need to be made in advance and cannot be carried over if unused. It is a solid option for planned cleanouts when the timing is flexible. If you need rubbish gone today, or your load includes items the council does not accept, It’s Done can be there when you need us.
Can’t wait for the council collection?
Yarra council hard rubbish has to be booked ahead and the wait can be weeks. It’s Done clears Fitzroy rubbish when you call, no booking queue, no delay.

You deal with Rob and the It’s Done team directly. We are a local, family-run business, so the person you speak to is the person doing the job.
We take almost anything: furniture, whitegoods, mattresses, e-waste, renovation debris, office clearout items, garage junk and full deceased estate loads. We cannot take asbestos, hazardous chemicals, tyres or wet food waste.
Yes. Fitzroy’s narrow back lanes and terrace-house passages are something we navigate regularly. We carry smaller vehicles for tight access and can hand-carry items to the street if needed.
The council service is free for straightforward loads when you can wait for a booking slot. We are available when you need us, take any volume or mix of items, and do all the work ourselves. If your timing is tight or your load is too varied for a council collection, give us a call.

Yes, where we can. We sort loads at our Prahran base and direct metals, timber, e-waste and reusable furniture to recycling and donation partners rather than landfill. We cannot guarantee every item, but we always make the effort.
