Rubbish Removal in Elwood
Elwood locals call us often, and the range of jobs in Elwood reflects the mix of the suburb. The heritage mansions on the canal-side streets and around Marine Parade are the big clearout jobs: large garages, full estate contents, renovation rubble when older properties get extended. The compact apartments near Ormond Road in Elwood Village are a different scenario entirely: smaller loads, tight stairwells, and in some buildings a wait for lift access or clearance from building management. We handle both regularly. Street parking around Ormond Road can be tight for the truck, so knowing where to position is part of the job. We’re Prahran-based, about 10 minutes from Elwood, and you always deal with a reliable local team that turns up when it says it will.
The foreshore and Marine Parade have metered or permit beach parking, and it’s heavily congested through summer. A lot of the residential streets are narrow and lined with parked cars, and the canal cuts some through-routes, so we plan our run in. The six-pack blocks often have tight shared driveways and almost no off-street access. We bring the right vehicle for the street, find a spot first, then carry and load by hand.
We handle the full range of household, office and commercial rubbish in Elwood: furniture, whitegoods, mattresses, e-waste, renovation rubble, garage clear-outs and deceased estate cleanups. We lift and load everything ourselves, sweep up, and sort for recycling wherever possible. No skips, no tip runs.
Since 2008 we have diverted over 320,000 kg from landfill through our Prahran-based recycling and donation partnerships. Metals, timber, e-waste and reusable furniture from Elwood jobs are sorted and directed to the right facilities rather than to landfill.

Rob and his colleague were efficient, friendly and very reasonably priced against all other removal providers. He was prompt to quote, organise a day and removed the items I needed gone. Highly recommend It’s Done Rubbish Removal! Thanks Rob & Mooch for the help. Nabi

Robert and his team did a magnificent job clearing a crowded house and five crowded sheds. Not an inch spared in any of the truck loads! Robert is a total professional and a pleasure to deal with. Note – just had Robert and the team complete another rubbish removal. This time all the waste from bathroom renovations. Same excellent service from start to finish. Very pleased.

Robert and his team completed some rubbish removal at a rental property I manage. He arrived on time (the next day!), completed all rubbish removal and charged a reasonable amount. He was very professional and offered a great service 🙂

City of Port Phillip
Elwood falls under the City of Port Phillip, which provides four free hard waste collections per household each year, with apartment buildings and units entitled to six. Residents book online and select their preferred pick-up date from available options; collection days align with your regular bin day. Items must be sorted into separate piles for hard waste and metal or e-waste, and must not exceed 2 cubic metres of hard waste per collection. The council accepts mattresses, carpet, crockery, appliances and e-waste. If you need more capacity, a faster turnaround, or your items fall outside what the council accepts, It’s Done can clear Elwood rubbish when you call.

You deal with Rob and the It’s Done team directly. We are a local, family-run business, so the person you speak to is the person doing the job.

Yes. Elwood has a real mix of compact apartments near Ormond Road and larger heritage homes closer to the canal. We work in both, carrying items from upper floors, navigating narrow access and coordinating with building managers for apartment jobs where needed.
The council service gives Elwood residents four free collections a year, which is very generous if your load fits within the 2 cubic metre limit and you can wait for a booking slot. Our service is available when you need us, handles any volume and any mix of items, and we do all the heavy lifting. When you need it gone today, call us.
