Melbourne shop and restaurant clearouts
Shop rubbish removal across Melbourne, cleared around your business
Shop rubbish removal Melbourne businesses rely on covers the clearance and responsible disposal of retail and hospitality waste, from shopfittings and display shelving to cafe furniture, commercial kitchen equipment and full fit-out debris. It’s Done is a Prahran-based crew that has been clearing retail shops, cafes and restaurants across Melbourne’s inner south and east for more than 16 years, and we schedule every job around your trading hours so the business never stops.
We handle the items that are too heavy, too bulky or too awkward to move yourself: gondola shelving and display counters, refrigerated display cases, commercial chairs and tables, old coffee machines and kitchen equipment, signage, partitions and stripped fit-out timber. You point to what needs to go, we carry it out, load it and leave the space swept, ready for the next fitout or the new tenants.
Pricing is by the volume we remove rather than by the hour, so you receive a fixed, upfront quote before we start with no surprises at the end. For businesses that need paperwork, we issue tax invoices and can supply a certificate of insurance for centre management or your landlord on request.

What we take
Shop and restaurant clearouts cover the full range of retail and hospitality waste. Common items we remove:
How shop rubbish removal works
Three steps from first call to a clear, swept tenancy, with no surprises.
-
Call (03) 9820 1927 or send the online form with photos or a description of what needs to go. Rob reviews the scope and gives you a fixed, no-obligation price, usually within a couple of hours. If you need after-close, before-open or overnight access, we confirm entry logistics at the same time so there are no hold-ups on the day.
-
We arrive at the agreed time with the truck and the crew, whether that is after your doors close for the night, first thing before trade starts or on a Saturday during a quiet period. Our team handles all the lifting and loading, working around any equipment, stock or staff still on the floor, and navigating centre loading docks or strip-mall access without disrupting the business next door.
-
Once everything is loaded we sweep the space and leave it ready for your next fitout or your incoming tenant. Back at base we sort the load, donating usable furniture and equipment, recycling metals, cardboard and e-waste, before the rest is disposed of responsibly. You pay the quoted price and we issue a tax invoice on completion.

Retail and hospitality clearances, worked around trading hours
Shop and restaurant clearouts sit in a category of their own. The items are commercial grade and heavy, the access windows are tight because the business is trading, and the turnaround expectations are real: a new tenant may be fitting out in days, or a refurbishment crew is booked and can’t start until the old shopfit is gone. It’s Done has been handling these strip-outs across Melbourne’s inner south and east, the CBD and surrounding suburbs for more than 16 years, and we build the job around those constraints from the first call.
Retail clearances typically involve shopfittings that are bolted down or heavy, display units, counters and signage that need careful handling to avoid damage to the walls and floors, and large volumes of fit-out timber, plasterboard and packaging once the fixtures are down. Restaurant and cafe clearances add a layer of weight: commercial fridges, ovens, coffee machines, prep benches, extraction systems and quantities of commercial chairs and tables. A typical shop or restaurant clearance covers:
- Shopfittings and display: gondola shelving, display cases, counters, cash-desk units and signage
- Cafe and restaurant furniture: tables, chairs, banquettes, bar stools and booth seating
- Commercial kitchen equipment: refrigeration, ovens, coffee machines, prep benches and extraction
- Fit-out waste: stripped timber, plasterboard, partition panels, cabling and general construction debris
End-of-lease handovers for retail and hospitality tenancies often come with tight landlord or agent deadlines, and we are experienced at meeting them. If you need the space cleared for an incoming fitout team, a property photographer or a landlord inspection, mention that when you call and we will schedule around it. We can provide a certificate of insurance for shopping-centre management or a commercial landlord on request.

Common questions
You deal directly with Rob and his team from first contact to job completion. No call centres, no middlemen. Pricing is by the volume of space your load occupies in the truck. Send photos or call (03) 9820 1927 for a fixed, upfront quote before we start.
Yes. After-hours, before-open and overnight clearances are available by arrangement, at no extra charge for the timing. We can work in retail tenancies and hospitality venues after the doors close, before trade starts, or on a Saturday to avoid any disruption to the business or neighbouring tenants. Call Rob on (03) 9820 1927 to confirm the earliest available time.
Most retail and hospitality clearances cover shopfittings and display units such as gondola shelving, counters and signage; cafe and restaurant furniture including tables, chairs and booth seating; commercial kitchen equipment such as refrigeration, ovens and coffee machines; and fit-out waste including stripped timber, partitions and general construction debris. If your load includes something outside those categories, just ask when you enquire.
We cannot accept asbestos, hazardous chemicals or tyres. Retail and hospitality fit-out waste and standard commercial equipment are nearly always fine. If you have an unusual item, call (03) 9820 1927 and we will confirm whether we can take it before you book.
We are Prahran-based and cover the inner south and east, including South Yarra, St Kilda, Richmond, Fitzroy and Hawthorn, as well as Melbourne CBD and Docklands. See our service areas page for the full list.
We confirm all access requirements before the job, including loading-dock bookings, shopping-centre management approvals and after-hours entry arrangements. You do not need to be on site for the entire job, but we need a contact who can provide access on the day. We can remove fixed fittings such as bolted shelving and counters where that has been agreed with your landlord, and we can supply a certificate of insurance for centre management on request.
We divert over 35,000kg of waste from landfill each year. Usable furniture and commercial equipment in good condition are donated to charity partners or passed on where possible. Metals, cardboard and e-waste are separated for recycling before the remaining waste is disposed of responsibly.
Yes. It’s Done carries public liability insurance on every job and has been operating since 2008. We issue tax invoices and can provide a certificate of insurance for shopping-centre management or commercial landlords.
